Changing impellor on my C30 a real breeze with Ober pump. On this
blankty blank Sherwood instructions say to remove entire unit from
in front of engine. Wonder why can't just remove cover with the impellor?
Other then hassel to put three bolts from back side back into cover and keep
two moving parts - metal cover and gasket - in place while doing this.
Any suggestions to lubricate impellor? Used soapy water on Ober but
only took few minutes to secure cover. On Sherwood will take while
to hook up hoses and fumble with bolts and soapy water may not be
as effective after long delay?

On the 3gm30 in my boat it is much easier to remove the whole pump rather than trying to pull and replace the impellor from the rear. For the last 5-6 years most replacement impellors have come packaged with a small tube of "Impellor Lube". I have a small tub of the impellor lube I bought back in the dark ages, it's similar to Vaseline but water based so it doesn't harm the rubber blades.
