Changing from wire to rope halyards

I was told that you have to change the sheaves on the masthead of a C-22 when changing from wire to rope halyards. Has anyone done this? Did you have any problems? What size rope did you use? I was thinking of using Samson XLS 3/16. Anyone disagree with this? What would you use? Thanks, Matt P.S. Did I not say there would be a market rally this week (okay, it is only Monday)?

Matt, I did that last year and it's a real easy job. You have to buy the sheaves from Catalina Direct, but make sure you buy something else to make it worth the freight charges they hit you with. If you don't have their book for the C22, BUY IT! It's my Bible for my boat! The sheaves are on clevis pins and just slide in with the new sheaves in place. Simple as that. You line selection should be something very low stretch. Good Luck! Jay
