Changing engine controls

Catalina 25 Norwalk CT
I have a Catalina 25 with the old style two lever Morse controls.
One lever is the transmission, forward, neutral, reverse. The other lever is the throttle.
I'd like to change the control lever to a single lever style.
The lever looks like a simple plug and play. The only issue I'm not sure about is the cable ends.
Will I need to modify the cables to connect up to the new lever ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my unit, red cable is throttle. Single lever controls are sold with screw on fittings adaptable to your teleflex cablesimage.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg
