How do you change the bow lights on a C-30? Can they be changed from the anchor well? Thanks, Juan

Flush mounted bow lights

I beleive you have flush mounted bow lights. The fixture for these is fairly universal on all boats, and I know of only one design. To replace bulbs and lenses (which are available from Catalina Direct), you need to unscrew the housing from the outside via the two screws. You should then be able to pull the unit out sufficiently to gain acess to the inside screws on flanges that hold the bulb sockets and lenses in place. You unscrew these screws, remove the bulb socket, then the bulb, and then the lense if required. Then replace the lense with a new lense, and the bulb with a new bulb. Screw the bulb socket back on to its flange and then insert the unit back into the boat. Lastly, screw down the screws on the outside. I have noticed that just how you place the bulb in the holder effects its performance. When you install a new bulb into the socket, check to see if it is working before screwing anything else back together. If it is not working, remove the bulb, turn it 180 degress, reinsert, and then see if it is working.

Fixed

I fixed it. You have to enter from the Anchor Well and unscrew the cover to the bow lights. Once there, you pull the bulb unit from the attachment and replace the bulb. To replace the lense, you must unscrew two screws and remove the protective cover. Once completed, replace the lense (coat the raised area of the lense with silicon) and restore the respective covers.
