Changing an evaporator for a holding plate

I'm looking to change my evaporator for a holding plate. Is that possible with the same compressor? I have a Adler/Barbour ClodMachine.

Michel,I don't know if your compressor is large enough to handle a holding plate or not. I suggest you contact the customer service department of Refrigeration Parts Solution at 1-800-720-3907. I think your Adler Barbour is a 1/8th HP compressor and you will need at least a 14th HP Compressor to do what you want. The cost of a holding plate is about $230 plus you would need additional parts to make it work. Their 14th HP system with water cooling runs about $1200 and you have to install it. Good Luck.

i have a holding plate on a cold machinethe only touble was the machine quit on me. im in the process of getting it fixed

Power Plate

You can add the Adler/Barbour Power Plate to your system by removing the evaporator and installing the stainless steel plate. This will give you about 2 - 3 hours holdover on each cycle of the compressor. The compressor will run about 30 - 45 minutes each cycle. The plate sizes can be found on www.kenyonmarine.com and the part can be ordered from your local A/B dealer. the system will require a recharge after the installation. The plate with tube set retails for $400.
