My Beneteau '51 resides in Martinique while I am home in Canada for the summer. Each winter for the past ten years I have been cruising the Caribbean between St. Martin and Trinidad, gradually limiting our cruising area to Martinique/Grenada. We would love to cruise to Venezuela, but are wont to do so alone (my wife and I) because we are not sure we want to live with the possibility of trouble. In the part of the Caribbean that we cruise we have never had the slightest reason to be fearful, and at our age we do not feel that courageous!
