Hey all, this summer one of my chain plate deck fittings (not sure what else to call it) for the starboard shrouds started peeling and it got progressively worse this fall so I 'm thinking its time to fix it. I've attached pictures front and back from starboard side, the port side does not have this issue. Does anyone have any recommendation on how to correct it? I'm of course hoping not to have to remove it...
thanks!

It appears to be chrome plated bronze so if you can remove it any rechome shop should be able to fix it.

You really want to go to all the trouble of removing your standing rigging to remove and re-plate that?

I definitely prefer to not remove it so I was thinking something along the lines of peeling rest, sanding and putting some sort of cover, just not sure what that would be. My guess is I might have to do both sides to match if it changes significantly... is the interlux ok for painting on metal?

Use your Spinaker and job altars to hold the mast up right, marker your stayed and replace. You can buy a new from the dealer for the time and trouble to paint or having to rechrome for about the same price and keep your boat looking great.
