Just did my online renewal
Could not find on the site an option for multi year payment. Had hoped it would be ready this year

Bummer
They mentioned on the site it was an option but it did not allow for payment

We've received a multi-year option in the past, not from the CG, but from an agency that acts on their behalf. I avoid the online payment and agency like the plague. Instead wait for the renewal form directly from the CG via snail mail. $26/year. Online agency usually charges more.

It's my understanding that this past year was the first year the Coast Guard offered a multi-year (up to 5 years) option and it was not available on-line. You had to do it by mailing the application in. That's how I did it anyway, thought having a 5 year was to my benefit...

Just completed my renewal 6 weeks ago. Had the options of one to five years; you decide and enter multiples of $26 depending on the number of years. I did not pay online. There was no sliding payment schedule for multiple years; $26 / year.

Is it possible you renewed with one of those (non-USCG) renewal web sites?

The site is lacking in clarity.. But that is the way the government functions.. That said, you authorize a multiple of the annual fee to reflect the term of registration desired.. Last year I couldn't document for multiple years as the system was defective.. While it STILL is far from an ease site to use, I was able to document for 5 yrs.

One would thing that the IG's office of the USCG would be on these....."entrepreneurs" like stink on poop....

alas, too few people, too many violators, too many documentations, not enough days.......and on and on
