I hate those "Shopvacs"! They roll all over the place. They tip over real easy. However they do a great job. Is there such a thing as a central-vac for a sailboat? It would make sense to have something like that on a boat...don't you think? Thank you.

Like anything else...

always a matter of space. For large boats, 37-38 ft or better, I've seen some compact wall-mount models designed to go in your garage that would work if you're willing to sacrifice the space.

Might make sense to you, not to me...don't want to lose storage space or add weight for an item that is not used that often. I have a small 18v portable I keep on board for touch up cleaning. If the boat needs a good cleaning, I bring the vac from home.

How about a way to connect a shop vac that sits on the dock to a fitting on the boat so that all you have is a hose inside the boat? It would be simple and you wouldn't loose any storage space. Right now, I have 24ft of hose on my shop vac and leave it in the cockpit it works, but I can't quite reach the tip of the vee berth without tipping it over. Just a thought!

Small Hand Vac

"Lanny" Check Home Depot or Lowes for a small one (1) gallon Shop Vac. It has the handle on the top and 2 sections of tubing with flexible hose and 3 tip attachments. It will suck trash up like the big one. I believe mine has a 8' chord.
