Does anyone know where I can find the main ground on an 86 Hunter 31?

On my boat the battery negative and the wire to the negative buss bar at the panel are on the same bolt at the rear of the engine. I felt the ground wire to the panel was too small, a #12 I think. I paralleled it with #10 wire rather than try to replace it.

P.S. Found an old picture. I was wrong, the original was a #10. It is the white wire on the back of the head of my old engine. Now there is a new engine and two ground wires going to the panel.

Well I am not at all familiar with your H31 Richard. But any boat I have worked on has an electrical panel with the circuit breakers for lights, pumps, etc. On my boat that panel can be pulled out enough to work on the back of it(wish I had a picture). But it should be fairly obvious, a metal bar where you should see that same wire from the engine. Then one side of the circuit breakers either attach directly to that bar or are wired to it. Here is the back of an H37C panel but the bar is not apparent: http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/in...&cat_id=38&aid=7116&page=article&mn=37-cutter .
