From Zihua to PV
The time of year is right for the trip, and youll need good weather info as you go. Play the weather right and you can sail, or motor sail, comfortably.A morning shortwave net (Amigo net?)gives daily reports from cruisers in the area, as well as a composite forecast each day for what to expect. I did this last year and the good news is that there are lots of anchorages you can duck into if it turns nasty. Don't pass up Zihuatanejo. It's a wonderful place, cruiser friendly, and lots of folks around to help with local knowledge going up and down. There are good marinas at several places, all of which would be listed in Charley's Charts -- one book you'll need aboard. Barra de Navidad has a great marina resort, and a spot in the lagoon for free anchorage behind Malaqui. Las Hadas Resort (think the movie "10" in Manzanillo Bay is another good spot to anchor off or stay in the marina.Bu t the anchorages are even better off the beach at Zihuatanejo, and Tenacatita Bay...You get the idea. The link will take you to my pictures from Zihua to PV last spring. Also check Latitude38.com for more info and links.Paradise Village is a very good marina at PV, but be sure to call ahead,Good luck,Sanders
