My 23.5 is at the dock with centerboard stuck in up position. Too cold to go swimming; ideas to get it to swing down? Thanks.

Just did this on a Cat 250WB

We took a long 1/2" line, dropped it under the rudder & stern, and ran it from one side of the boat to the other. We then pulled it tight against the hull, and worked it forward. We were able to "hook" the centerboard, and by continuing to pull the line forward, free the centerboard. Jim

You can pull the boat out of the water or

wait till the weather warms up. If you have water ballast the function of the center board is just to help the boat sail upwind by minimizing sideway slipage. You may continue to sail. The culprit is probably marine growth where the centerboard enters the hull. I would have recommended laying the boat down on a shallow at low tide but I think your hull configuration and lack of a fixed keel will just make it sit flat which would not help you. Good luck, it's just a minor setback.

Remove the Tube in Back of the Compresion Post

Use a tire iron or somthing similar and see if you can push it down.
