Ben, I just replaced the CB line on my 95 H26.
You must get the boat high enough to drop the center board out of the boat. I jacked my boat and trailer about 4 feet off the ground and then supported the trailer and also the boat bunks with dunnage. I removed the trailer wheels and unbolted the boat bunks from the trailer. I then lowered the trailer to the ground. Then I unbolted the stainless steel centerboard housing from the cabin trunk area and lowered the CB out of the boat. By keeping the CB horizontal I didn't have to raise the boat too high. Replace the line with the best you can buy!. I then bought a 8" long bolt the size of the CB bolt and cut the head off it and screwed it into the SS housing to act as a guide when installing the CB assembly back into the trunk.when it is in place remove the guide bolt, install the original, jack the trailer into place, rebolt the bunks, install wheels and sale the damn thing.Good luck, check first to be sure yours is the same as mine or if it is different.RayS/V SpeedyPS. While steel line would be nice I don't think it would bend nicely around the sheeves on your boat and would probably break the sides off the sheeves as the diameter is so much smaller. Rope will last another 20 years.
