hello everyone. i hope the sailing is smooth. unfortunately, the front edge of the centerboard on our hunter 170 is starting to split. please offer any advice on removing the cb, repairing the split, and replacing the cb back to its proper position.

Hopefully, your CB splitting is covered by warranty, try calling Hunter. They were very helpful when my CB started swelling. I wonder if yours has the same problem. I guess a certain number of CB's were manufactured with a material which swelled when wet so any opening in the outer cover led to swells and cracks in the CB (mine had a tiny crack near the screw in the bottom of the board). Hunter mailed out a new board to me ASAP (covered by warranty) and replacing it was not too bad, just a little awkward becuase of needing to lift that weight (~70 lbs) out of the CB trunk.
