Centerboard pendant replacement

The centerboard pendant on my O'Day 25 needs replaceing this spring and I would like to make it up before it is lifted up on the slings so that I can quickly replace it. Does any one know what the steel wire diameter and length is before it is spliced the the rope line? Is the wire spliced to the line or does it use shackles to join them. Any info on what to use for the pendant would be a great help.Thanks

Bill -I haven't done this job so I don't want to steer you wrong. Someone else here may chime in with the answer but if not I would call Rudy at D and R and ask him what you're going to find. I just replaced mine...bought it from Rudy, it was around 20 bucks. The steel wire is no longer used its all rope now.

Replacing mine

I just bought one from Rudy - it is all rope and has the replacement shackle already on it. Just a matter of dropping the board while it's in the sling and replacing it.The most expensive cost is the yard fee for pausing during the launch!Geof
