So I dove under my boat to see why my pendant was not moving, and I found out that the pendent is no longer attached to the board. The board on my Oday 23 is fully down, and the "loop" that was glassed to the trailing edge of the board (where the pendent attached to) is gone. Has anyone ever had to fix this before? Other than trying to recreate that loop, I had two thoughts: fasten a piece of stainless to the board (like maybe a small pintle), and affix the pendant to that. Or, drill a hole through the board near the trailing edge itself, fill with epoxy, redrill, and directly affix the pendent through that. Ideas?

I would drill. My hole in the CB is a least an inch wide. The wire rope pennant has a shackle thats over and attaches to the hole. The wire rope then leads up to a block in the pennant tube.

New pendant

I think sometimes we can DIY too much. I say that because a brand new centerboard pendent and a new line is $31 from D&R Marine. I recently ordered one for my O'Day 25 instead of trying to create it on my own with supplies from Home Depot. I just figured $31 is a reasonable price for having everything all new and the exact piece for the boat. The end section that has the pin attached looks like it will last a very, very long time. The link is for your O'Day 23 on D&R Marine's website. If you call in and order it on the phoen you will probably get it faster.
