Went for my maiden voyage today and the center board did not drop. It worked well the one time I dropped it to check it out before buying the boat but I wonder if it was cinched incorrectly when it was pulled back up? Any ideas? Thank Heavens for motors!

centerboard problems

I also just bought a daysailer (1971). When I went to let the center board down the cable broke. I took off the pulley on the center board and used a long stick to push the board down. I sailed the boat and it stayed down. I contacted DR Marine and plan on overhauling the centerboard cables and bushing ect...

They all stick

Mine sticks every time it is trailered. When I leave it on the mooring for the summer, I never retract it all the way, but mark the halyard. Also, be aware, it may stick if fiberglass is expanded due to water infiltration.
