I have a 1983 Catalina 22. My forward centeboard is crushed at the compression post. It is throwing out the forward and aft stay adjust and I am worried about stading rigging. What is the structure failure? Propably failed because of moisture. How can I fix this? Anyone got pictures of how to fix? Thanks, Alex

You mean the keel trunk ?

Not sure what you mean by "the forward centerboard", but based on the rest of the description, it sounds like your keel trunk is giving way at the compression post. -De-rig the boat -Remove the compression post -Determine the cause of the keel trunk issues (probably wood rot) -Repair the keel trunk with epxoy and fiberglass -Put the compresion post back in place -Re-Rig the boat Go sailing.

under C-22 compression post

Underneath the C-22 compression post there is another piece of wood hidden inside the keel trunk. After removing the mast and compression post, you need to make an inspection hole to examine the interior where this piece of wood lies. My guess is this wood has either rotted or possibly maybe even just knocked out of position. Good luck.
