Centerboard cable

Elizabeth, I'm not familiar with centerboard cables on the O'Day Daysailer. If it is an O'Day, you could call Rudy Nickerson of D&R Marine in Assonet Ma., and order it. As for installing it; the safest and fastest way to do it would be to have them lift the boat at the boatyard or, you may know someone who has SCUBA gear that could go underwater and connect it for you. In this case, you would need to fish a string down the pipe somehow to connect the new centerboard cable to, and pull it up into the cockpit after the diver connects the shackle to the centerboard. These are just two possibilities that you could consider. Good luck! Joe

Do you have a roller trailer for this boat?

Elizabeth, If you have a roller trailer, you could buy a long ratchet type strap and place it around the mid section of the boats hull and tighten it up to hold the centerboard up. You could then pull it out of the water. The centerboard will come up as you winch the boat on to the trailer and this is the time that you could put the strap on. Joe
