Has anyone modified their centerboard rigging for easier movement? The board seems a bit heavy for me. Thanks in advance for any help.

Add a real cleat

Hi RobertI added a cleat on the cabin side to SECURE thecenterboard. Jam cleats are for adjustment andcan not be TRUSTED to hold anything securely.The centerboard IS heavy, but I put up with it.You could put a block on the cockpit side railslike I did for the roller furling if needed.Get ready for tennis elbow for all this FUN !Happy sailing...dan

heavy centerboard

Cut the centerboard rope to an appropriate lenght. Tie a pulley(block) to it. Fasten a line to the stern end of the cabin side rail, run it thru the block and back to the jam cleat. This will make centerboard very easy to raise. I have no problem with jam cleat. Very convenient.
