Has anyone modified their centerboard rigging for easier movement? The board seems a bit heavy for me. Thanks in advance for any help.

Add a real cleat

Hi Robert I added a cleat on the cabin side to SECURE the centerboard. Jam cleats are for adjustment and can not be TRUSTED to hold anything securely. The centerboard IS heavy, but I put up with it. You could put a block on the cockpit side rails like I did for the roller furling if needed. Get ready for tennis elbow for all this FUN ! Happy sailing...dan

heavy centerboard

Cut the centerboard rope to an appropriate lenght. Tie a pulley(block) to it. Fasten a line to the stern end of the cabin side rail, run it thru the block and back to the jam cleat. This will make centerboard very easy to raise. I have no problem with jam cleat. Very convenient.
