The pendant broke and, wondering what happened, my crew member hauled the line up into the cockpit... :) Has anyone had any luck getting a feed back down to be able to attach a new line? I have tried with thick weedeater line, but it appears that there is an angle that it cannot negotiate. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Some info

Bill, The old timers have answered this so many times I should take a turn. The tube is a straight shot to the centerboard housing. It could be that you have growth in the tube or housing. I had a cable that the shackle rusted out, disconnected from the board and jambed in the tube. I used a piece of #6 bare copper wire with the end folded back on itself to jamb through the tube to free the shackle. You may need to do this to open your tube. I made up a Staset 1/4" pennant with a s.s. thimble for my pennant. I dropped a 1/8" nylon line with a small sinker on it down the tube. This line was long enough to go through the tube and back to the surface of the water. I taped the 1/8" messenger to the bitter end of the pennant and pulled it into and through the tube. DON'T PULL THE THIMBLE INTO THE HOUSING. THE HOUSING IS ABOUT 1 1/2" WIDE AND 10" DEEP. YOUR HAND WILL NOT FIT UP INTO THE HOUSING! The s.s. yoke on the centerboard was still firmly connected. I connected the thimble to the yoke with a 5/8x5/8 shackle. good luck r.w.landau
