Center board on the tidal flats

I just purchased a 2003 Hunter 260, Previously I had a McGregor 22. I moored the boat on the tidal fats, twice a day the tide went out and the boat sat on the flats. Not too many problems over the last 15 years. The hunter center board sticks down about 10" as compared to my old boat 4" . Any one have any sugestions?? Don't do it? It will be fine? any devices to go around the center board and hold the boat up?? Modifications to the centerboard such as vertically retractable?

Where you are located

would be a big help. What keel boats do in those conditions in Europe is to rig a large 4 x 4s on both sides of the boat tied to stanchions to keep it upright. I see no reason you couldn't do the same. Not great for the stanchions, but what else ya gonna tie 'em to?

Each time you are on the bottom, you'll be packing mud into the centerboard trunk. Maybe it'll fall out. Maybe not.

I would think it would depend on the bottom conditions as around here it could in fact be soft mud OR drive you car on it sand which would be bad

The boards sure not designed to support the boat
