For those of you who sail on Lake Michigan, how good is the cellular phone service you use when out on the water? I was very disappointed this past season with my Sprint service, and I'm looking to change.
Hi Robert: We have Century Tel and sail all over Northern Lake Michigan, Elk Rapids is home port. We have had good signal strength even out as far as Beaver Island. I looked at the "footprint" of coverage when I signed up and Century Tel had the best for Northern Lk Michigan. Good Luck Dave S/V Westwind
We use Cellular One Coverage and we have had no problems from The Milwaukee Area all the way North to the tip of Door County. Some of the Cellular Carriers only have towers in the freeway coridors and not much coverage beyond it.
