I need new roller furling and note that the CDI system appears to be adequate to Chesapeake Bay sailing and very reasonably priced. Does anyone have recent user experience concerning the performance of CDI roller furling please? Thank you BH October 24th

no problems at all. Hear they are even better now.

Furlings

Check out this place for a furling http://www.alado.com/welcome.html Over the past couple of years there have been 6 installed on boats at the marina I am at. They were ordered from Brazil, and delivered within 4 days, easy to install.

Had one on my 1981 H30

Worked well in any and all conditions. Despite the naysayers, I used in very heavy weather and never had any trouble. I'm a big fan of the product: cheap, zero maintenance, indestructible, and easy to install. BTW, I *despised* the older CDI furler I had.

On my '79 H30

I've had the CDI roller furler on my '79 H30 for about a year. It was easy to install, except for getting the old one off! It works freely and seems to be foolproof and durable. The price is right and the hardware looks to me like it'll hold up very well. I've heard tale of the smaller units twisting a bit from end to end, but the larger extrusions should be immune to this. Your H30 will require the FF7 model, the second to largest they make. Recommended!

Great Product and support

Have had a CDI on my H-27 since it was new. After 15 years the drum cracked, An upgraded replacement was very inexpensive and they really helped in matching the parts. SIMPLE and BULLET PRROF...... CDI gets adn A+ in my book. PS...several years ago I als replace the alum. luff with the plastic one... A great upgrtade. cheap too..

New Bearing Kit

Brian, I had a CDI Flexible Furler on my 1996 H26 when I bought the boat. It sucked. Very very difficult to furl the sail. I called CDI for a solution. They were most helpful. An upgraded bearing kit was offered for around $80. It replaced a UHMWPE disc originally supplied. The installation only took 30 min. WOW what a difference. Since then I have a new opinion of CDI's system....GREAT! Jeff Morrison
