For a Catalina Capri 22 jib. After several sails, the furler stops winding up completely and some of the jib remains unfurled. Somehow the original number of furling line wraps around the drum diminishes. What may be causing this problem? And how can it be fixed? Thank You.

Dependng on wind strength, the sail is wrapping up tighter or looser. One of the times the sail does not wrap all the way, take the furling drum line forward and wrap it a few more times around the drum until the jib rolls all the way up. Add a couple more turns if you have enough drum line..

In addition to what @Ron20324 said, as sails age they wrap tighter because the sail cloth becomes softer.

OK the fix is simple. Remove both jib sheets from the cars and wrap them around the sail /furler 3-4 times and run them back thru the appropriate jib cars.
