Torque Links

Wade,
I was trying to find some of these last year, and never did. I talked to the guys at CDI, posted on sailing boards, searched the net, NADA. Depending on the reason you need them, ie: bent, broken, twisted, etc. there are some things you can possibly do to reuse yours if they are not too far gone, or missing. Call CDI. I ended up having to replace mine, as some of the foil sections were bent, and they too are no longer available. I ended up with a new Flexi Furler, and really like it.

Niice,

thanks much, i think i am going to get a peice of lexcon square stock and the routor and try and fabricate some, keep coming up with no luck on buying and seems like alot of people are looking for them. Dont look like this particualar type would be to hard to fabricate so worth the try. if you dont mind my asking how much was the flexi furler, if i keep spending money on the boat will be paying for a divorce lawyer as well lol

CDI Pricing

I bought the FF9 from the chandlery here. Cost was a little over 1200. That is the largest size, and the smaller ones will be a little bit less. And by the way, the service and pricing from SBO was excellent. Divorce will be much more expensive.

thanks man,

I just gave a link to a friend here at work that makes alot of stuff in his wood working shop, tells me will be no trouble to make, and i can get a piece of lexcon from the platics place here in dartmouth at a real good price, will be stronger than the factory one with a little more flex, looks like it mite work out, do you still have your old cde reefer may be interested in buying it for parts for mine

Still have most of it

At the price of these things, I still have most of it. Gave a couple of pieces to ctskip, but most I still have. Have the foils, bottom bearing piece, a few other misc. pieces. I would not be the least bit interested in selling them, but if you can use them, they can be yours for the price of shipping. I will have to look and see which model it is, but is the large one. Memory is effected by CRS.

Take a picture of the parts that you need and postum. I don't know what I have, but they are yours if they will fit.

hi guys,
thanks for the sailors generosity, i know spelling sucks, but i can weld pretty good lol, i would like to have the parts as spares, mine is the 5 inch drum size, if anyone needs any of the torque links my friend is building a jig and making me some, shouldn't be to much trouble to fab a few more, if it all works out lol. and would be more than happy to pay the shipping Nice, where ya from I work for an airline and do alot of travel, most likely be in your neck of the woods some time soon. As well if your up for a trip to Nova Scotia theres a boat here for use, same to you Steve

I have a reefer II and CDI told me to cut the links in half and drill a new hole in the extrusion to rivet to the new length. I have not tried it yet so I don't know if it will work.

Traveller,
a guy sent me the same thing, am hearing dont really give enough strength, and when mine goes in the water this year i want her to stay there, except when travelling, may be great for yours as you wont be upping and lowering the mast to much, certainly worth a try

Blue Noser, did you ever have any of the torque links made? Is it possible to get some more made? I would really hate to let a good furler go unused because of such a simple inexpensive part. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
