I'm in the process of installing the CDI furler on my H26. I am confused as to how to handle the genaker. Before the furler I would clip on the bottom of the genaker to the forestay and hoist the top of the genaker with the jib halyard. My jib halyard is on a block at the top below the forestay. Now that I am putting the furler over the forestay, how do I attach the genaker when needed? Do I use the now unused same jib halyard? where do I hook the bottom of the genaker- to the previous attachment for the jib on the deck? Can I fly the genaker with lines behind the furler as I did before behind the forestay? I would think so but have heard otherwise? Please respond directly if possible. vacha@en.com

sailrite company

Just received in the mail yesterday a flyer from the sailrite company and they now offer cd's that explain some of the tasks that people do when they purchase supplies from them and one of the cd's is on installing this particular setup-the introductory price was $9.95 I think. Looks like they had you in mind& the price is right. They also have a website sailrite.com, I believe.

Would like to know

I'll be interested to see the answer to this. I got my '95 H26 last year and it came with an assymetrical spin. and sock. There is a dead eye with two blocks on it just aft of the roller. One block for the furling line and one for the spinnacker downhaul. Question is what happens when I gibe (can't tack, right?)? With the roller/forestay so far forward on this boat the sail would have to wrap around the forestay/rolled up jib. I'm I missing something? Tom/Ft Worth

Don't gybe the chute

I installed an additional internal halyard for using an Assymetrical spinnaker with my CDI furler. I use a chutescoop (sock) and a Tack Strap, both are by ATN. The tack strap is just a strap that loops around the furled headsail and snaps on to the tack of the chute. When I purchased the sail and rigging from JSI, the tech rep recommended a single sheet, and not trying to gybe the chute as you are more than likely to foul the sail on the rolled up jib. When we decide to gybe, I partially furl the chute in the sock, lead the sheet around and unfurl after the gybe. Although it costs time, with my short handed crew, it is much easier. Tack line?

Mike Do you have a tack line, from the chute tack, down to a block, back to the cockpit? If the chute is tacked aft of the furler what happens when you gybe the boat? Won't the chute wrap around the furled headsail? Tom/Ft Worth

spinnaker

Terry; Call me on this one. You have a z-spar mast. look above the forestay attachement and advise if you haveanother turning block. If so, that is where the spinnaker halyard should go. Please advise. Dave Condond
