Would like to hear pro's and con's of anyone's experience with the CDI 2 Bladed Feathering Prop, particularly with either a 3gm or 3gm30 Yanmar engine, or similar.

Got a 3 blade on a H30 with a 2GM

Good product so far; bought it last year. I can see a cleaner wake behind the boat under sail and the performance in reverse is fantastic ( the reverse pitch is independently adjustable. )Very easy to install; seems very reliable.

Thanks

Tim, thanks for the response. Did you notice any improvement in the forward direction? Ernie

Forward is similiar...

to the fixed 3 blade I tried out for a season. But I was able to have a friend adjust the pitch of the prop until it was set properly. Much more convenient than swapping out props. Also, I thought the drag from the fixed 3 blade was unacceptably high.

CDI OK

Installed mine on a 3gm30 33.5. 2 blade feathering CDI. Gain of 1/2 - 1 kt under power forward & 1 knot under sail. The 33.5 still has some drive train vibrations due to proximity of prop to hull so I might go for the 3 blade feathering next time. Good luck
