We spent two one week vacations there years ago although we flew in, not sailing. One was during the time Hurricane Mitch was passing by central America. We didn't get hit but it was really interesting having the entire island to ourselves after every other tourist had left! Be sure to sample the turtle soup! lol
Try to schedule a visit during Pirates Week. Lots of activities and 'real' pirates invade the island too
