5200 & 4200

For the hull to deck joint, I'd think 3M 5200 would be a good choice but for the others, don't even think about it. 4200 would be the best (or Life Caulk - pretty much the same stuff) for the ports & teak.laDonna

Life Seal

I used Life Seal. Made by the same company as Life Caulk. I think it is more like 4200. I used it for my handrails and other teak trim.Les Murrays/v Ceilidh86 C-36 #560

Life Seal, too

I've used all the other products mentioned, and now use Life Seal for all bedding. 5200 is still good for structural bedding (like deck/hull joint). Life Seal is a polyurethane (like 5200) but contains some silicone, which makes it easier to work with. It doesn't bond like 5200, which is nice for removing fittings. Life Seal also works well for plastic deckplates. Polysulfides (Life Calk, 3M 101) aren't recommended with plastic.

Best all around, though also have had good results with 3M marine grade silicone for bedding plastic.
