FYI if there is a stiff cross wind or it is your first time the Harbor Patrol will gladly help you out. One time there was a strong cross wind and the patrol boat was lashed to mine and he held me in place while I attached the mooring lines. The first time I moored up was on the mooring line where they really pack them in. He stay near by and coached me through it. I remember his advice every time I moor-up "Just keep moving down the sand line to the back of the boat, don't stop!"View attachment 78587
Yes, it was a bit intimidating on my first time slinking down the line of boats and then getting hooked fore and aft with a bit of wind! Our little boat with a shoal keel feels solid as a rock with 15 mph winds and full up sails (150% genoa). Hasn't scared me-- yet.
