catalina flexible exhaust hose

My exhaust hose on my 1987 catalina is badly cracked and requires replacing. Any suggestions on where I can purchase this item?
Unfortunately there's nothing on the Catalina Direct site. I saw a post some time ago indicating the girations to go through when replacing this item but I can't find it.
Does anyone out there done this job? Any words of wisdom?

Getting the hose off the thru hull is usually lotsa fun! Read the link for ideas.

Buying exhaust hose for use in Canada from California makes little sense. You simply need wet exhaust hose, (not flexible - it's most likley 1-5/8 inch - check your size before ordering - with wire reinforcing) there's gotta be a better deal in your neighborhood. Google is most likely your friend. This hose is NOT boat or brand specific. If you have a boatyard nearby, ask them.

Good luck, it's a worthwhile project.

Tsatch, mine needs replacing as well, the top clamp was tightened against nothing, and now the hose has fine cracks on it, I am afraid to take it off without causing more cracks.
