The genoa track does not extend far enough forward to sheet a working jib. The working jib is approximately 80% hoist and 80% LP. Has anyone installed a track forward of the genoa track to sheet a working jib?
My 1994 36 has them installed them on the boat. I don't know if the previous owner did this or they were factory installed. Although not an MKII model, I think the deck layout in this area is the same. I don't have a working jib myself so I've never used them.
David G. of TX, Seems like you working jib is more like a large storm sail. Anyway, are you sure you can't correct the problem by hoisting the sail up higher and installing a pennant at the clew?? And remember much more than about 9" of halyard above the upper swival to the next turning point (sheeve?) and you risk halyard wrap.David G. of MD
