Has anyone ordered the catalina 36 v berth mattress from Catalina Direct? If so, how did you like it for sleeping more than one night on the boat? we are planning weekends and weeks but not a live aboard.

Maybe you can visit the Catalina supplier's mattress factory and test it OR request a sample. I would be surprised if the quality was not top of the line coming from Catalina. Buy it and if you think you need a topper you add that later.

Catalina Direct is not Catalina yachts. Got a picture and it looks OK. Local mattress makers won't make one less than 8 inches tall which is too big for our v berth.

Are you just replacing the foam or the cover too? If just the foam, order from Foam by Mail (free shipping over $75) and cut it with a $15 electric carving knife. Their HQ foam is likely higher quality than Catalina. I hate memory foam too - too hot. If you want to get really fancy consider two layers - the bottom of high quality regular foam and then 2" of latex which sleep cool. Or make the top layer a 2" convoluted "topper" for cool sleeping. If it gets stained or smelly just throw it away after a few years. Only $30. Eggcrate Foam Topper

Nope. I am ordering a innerspring coil mattress from Catalina Direct and am wondering if anyone has had experience with that product from them. I want a real bed.
