Over the winter, I made new wooden ones for my '82, using Sitka spruce (aka spar spruce). I reused the old hardware. Cost was about $150, including Interlux primer and paint. Should be good for another 33 years.
I am new to Catalian 30. Just bought a 1979 one and found out one of teh wooden spreaders has rot. The replacement aluminum ones from CAtalina Direct are outside my budget. Does anyone know where I can get replacement aluminum spreaders for no more taht a couple of hundred bucks? Saw a mention of a company JSI but a google search did not yield a real name.

Or DIY like I did. You can make new spars and reuse all the other hardware. See post #4.
