catalina 30 gate stancion

I am replacing bent stancions and I have strugled to find the the nut on the inside of the cabin for most of them. I can not for the life of me find the one for the starboard gate stancion on my 1988 Cat 30? It seems to be located behind the electronics panel with no way to get at it. Di I need to cut a hole in the hull from inside or ???? Thanks!

Stanchions

I was able to find, remove and fix my stanchions. I used vicegrips below and unscrewed the bolt from above alone. The base was deformed which I was able to correct at home and reinstall. If you want new I know Catalina Direct sells them. I didn't want a couple of new stanchions with the old as I felt they would stand out. I rebedded and they look good and don't leak.

Stbd Boarding Gate Stanchion Nuts

You have surmised correctly, cut a hole using a drill fitted with a hole saw and a right angle drive.
