hi guys. my boat: C30 #4188 1985. Problem: sheaves for deck organizers torn up In looking for replacement sheaves, I cannot find the right size. I'd replace the organizers, but they sit on a raised area wide enough only for a double. I cannot find a 4/2 (two high stacked double) that fit into the same holes. I'd drill other holes, but standard ones from west marine line up with one hole in and one hold half off the other hole. Also, sheaves from west don't come in the right size. Anyone with a source, please let me know.

Jimbo 1985 Catalina 30? Pretty sure your organizers are Garhauer. I just replaced my sheaves for all of $4.50 apiece from Garhauer. Why buy a new organzier, just replace the sheaves. Call Garhauer and they'll mail 'em directly to you. It continues to amaze me that so many people with Catalina boats and Garhauer hardware wonder where they can obtain "replacement" equipment when the two companies ARE STILL IN BUSINESS!

... is simply the best. It's family run, very informal, very sincere in wanting to help you in any way possible. Talk to Mark or Guido. I can't say enough good things about them. Stu is totally right. Check the original equipment manufacturer first before you try duplicating the parts in the aftemarket.

Garhauer Has What You Want
With the help of my boatyard, Riverfront Yacht Services in Cleveland, we upgraded my stock deck organizers with new Garhauer stacked organizers. The old ones could handle two lines each, the new ones handle four lines each. Perfect fit. Looks good. No new holes need to be drilled. We replaced the two hole fairleads under the traveler with new Garhauer four hole fairleads. Perfect fit. Looks good. The parts quality seems to be low, but the price was low. The Garhauer parts arrived one week after they promised. I feel the Garhauer web site is not very informative. Many items that they can provide are not listed. However all things considered, I am satisfied with the result. I replaced the two single deck rope clutches that came with the boat with two triple Lewmars. I did not select the Garhauer rope clutches, even though they were lower in price. The quality seemed too low and precise fit was not a factor.
