Hi all , we filled up our diesel tank yesterday and while doing this the little chain that connects the tank cover to the hull came lose. We have the chain and the screw but my problem now is that the chain connection point (if you can call it that) is about 4 inches down the fuel intake. How do I screw this back together without dropping the screw into the tank ? Thanks ,Torsten SV Sitting Duck

Don't bother
Many times when the chain is connected, people take it for granted and they have to leave the cover hanging by the chain. When the chain does snap, the cover usually falls overboard. Just take the cover and put it inboard on a cockpit seat. You'll have less chance of ever losing it that way. BTW, you can buy replacement covers from Catalina Direct. Stu
