Hello, new catalina 27 (1990) owner and I just purchased a boat withour cradle or trailer. Is it realistic to try to trailer these boats? Also, how do I find the necessary cradle dimensions to be able to search for one to purchase? thanks.

I was once part of a crazy plan to move an Ericson 32 by trailer from Dana Point, CA to San Carlos, MX. It can be done, but requires planning and permits. You will also have to arrange some type of hoist to deal with the mast and rigging on both ends of the transit. I don't think this is something you would want to do for a weekend at the lake. The trailer we purchased for the adventure was adjustable and "set" to the specific vessel by trial and error. It only took four Ins and Outs with a sling hoist to get it right. Ol' Dave

get on the Catalina 27 chatlist. The folks there have done everything a person can do to and on a C27. There will be an archive of trailer stuff. Someone will have cradle dimensions. It's a boat that makes enthusiasts out of owners. I've had 3 of them over the years. Great boat. I am not in any way affiliated with Catalina Direct. They just host the website.
