I have a Catalina 27 (1985) I can not find deck acess for pump out for head. The chimatic I have shows acess to be on deck next to head- not there. I followed 2 inch line frrom holding tank to anchor locker - could this be it ? I have other questions about plumbing. a direct call to me would be much apreciated as I hate computor comunication- 707-206 8302 larry.conover@sbcglobal.net

--well you are looking for a silver colored screwout deck plate . it should be marked 'waste,' and looks similar to the FUEL or WATER inlets on the side decks. maybe the original owner retrofitted a holding tank and put the waste fitting in the anchor locker to keep gasdock people from filling the WASTE fitting with fuel. (that's a clever thing to do...but that placement would certainly smell up the v berth area if your old hoses start to stink.) if you unscrew the cap on this anchor-locker fitting you should be able to smell very quickly if that's the 'waste outlet' ...

i am on the east coast so calling you at this hour in ?california probably won't be much appreciated... if you go onto the catalina owners group you may find easy answers to any other plumbing questions...if not , post specific questions to 'ask all sailors'...

Larry, Peggie Hall had pm'ed me a week ago when this first came up, but it rotated out so soon I apologize for not getting back to you. She correctly suggested that you try to get in contact with a local C27 Fleet here in the Bay Area. There are lots of C27s around here. I don't know for certain, but there well may be a local C27 Fleet. THOSE would be the guys to ask, in addition to checking out the C27 Association website for specific information about your boat (www.catalina27.org - or some variation of that, C27.org, C27.com, etc.).

If the 2" line to the anchor locker is sealed with a cap, that's probably the pump-out hose.
Check a manual and look for the plumbing layout pal..
