Does anyone know the keel to cabin top height of an 1982 27? I'm currently on the hunt for indoor storage space for the restoration of my 27. I'm wondering if it'll get through a 12' high door while on a low boy.
Bingo, baby! That's what I wanted to know - if it would fit through a 12' door!I can maybe measure mine but know it's inside, on a trailer, and came through a 12' high door...
Luckily no, but that's not to say there has not been work done. A previous owner has done some core work and the chain plates are partially upgraded.Phil, Was just taking a quick look through your blog about the resto you did. Very impressive. Did you do any recoring or replace any chainplates?
I think I'll be okay. The boat is coming in on a custom hydraulic trailer than can drop down quite a bit. I was on a job yesterday with the same company and trailer. I wish I'd thought to take some measurements. I'll be at the boat Tuesday morning. I think I'll measure it and then stop by the hauler to measure the trailer height at it's lowest. Better safe than screwed. Here are two pics showing the boat on my trailer in the shop and a profile shot outside.
It's worth mentioning that on the trailer shown the axles are modified... They are cut and channeled...
Simply put, the bottom of the keel is below the hub centers on this trailer
