I'm wanting to replace the old plastic thru hull exhaust outlet with a new stainless steel one. My problem is: how to remove the old one while the boat is still in the water. All suggestions welcome. Thanks mates.

I did it in the water

On my C27 with an Atomic 4 the exhaust outlet normally is out of the water an inch or two when the boat is in the slip. I did exactly what you are planning with the boat in the slip. My slip was wide enough and the finger long enough that I tied the bow to one side and the stern to the other side of the slip. This allowed me access to exhaust outlet and screws. I was able to get access to the inside of the exhaust fitting and hose under the port cockpit bench. I undid the hose clamp and removed the exhaust hose. This is a little tricky its hard to get too. Then I removed the old fitting from the outside by laying on the slip finger and removing the screws and fitting. The hardest part was drilling the new holes hanging off the finger with the drill (rechargable). Then put on the new fitting and re-attach the exhaust hose. Worked out great and I didn't drop any tools.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys for the advice. I don't know if the old plastic fitting has screws or not, but looks like it has been only sealed. Obviously I haven't gotten down close enough on the outside to check it closely. I hope that the seal is not 5002 stuff.
