My Catalina 27 1989 is not pointing that well After looking at all rigging i have come to the conclusion my forestay / back stay tension is too loose As I have a roller fuling I cant put a loos guage on the forestay so I tend to set with the backstay I have been using a conservative figure of about 15 % of breaking strenth on the backstay ... my forestay is floppy ... in reading recently I was seeing recommended figures like 40% of breaking strain on the backstay ( I run 12 to 15 on the shrouds ) I really do not want to fold the boat in half ... what are you using for backstay tension thanks paul
