On the bottom of the Catalina 25 mast with internal halyards there are mast exit blocks (singles) for the internal jib and main halyards. Catalina used two versions that were distinguished by the number of mounting holes -either 4 or 6.
The sheave wheels in the exit blocks on my sailboat are broken. I have the 6 hole version originally made by Ronstan which is now obsolete (Ronstan RF459). You can still buy the sheaves, but Ronstan says it takes a special machine to handle the step rivets which is no longer available.
Nobody has a direct replacement. Catalina Direct sales only the 4 hole exit block, and the holes on these do not match up with the 6 hole version. There are work arounds but none are satisfactory. Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone have one or two surplus 6 hole types for sale?
Thanks,
