Catalina 22

I am currently looking at buying a boat. I found a catalina 22 that is in my price range. It looks like like a pretty good deal but I don't know anything about purchasing a sail boat. I want to know what to really look at to know the condition of this thing. I have never sailed before and am hoping this will be a forgiving boat to learn in. What are your thoughts?

Excellent starting point that will grow.

The C22 is a very good starting out boat that allows a person to learn and expand their skills up thru extended local trips or some of the best flat out racing you can have.The best bet is to find a local Catalina owner and have them check out the boat with you. In your area I'm sure there are more than a few that will help. The C22 owners are a fairly fanatical group of sailors and usually promote the brand and size fairly strongly.See what others have to say and go from there.Good luck, Ray
