I'm trying to put the leel (full keel) back on a Cataline 22. All 6 bolts were broken off. All bolts ere iron. I have removed all bolts (studs). I now need to put it back together. What is the proceedure? Should I use studs or bolts? Stainless or not? What prep should be done? What goes between the keel and the hull? Is this what seals it all? Do I use something different around the bolts/studs? Is this what seals it all? Should I grind down the bottom of tthe hull to take out all uneven surface? Does the "stuff" that I use for the keel seal squeeze out to also be ground off to make the hull smooth and beautiful without a seem or will there be a seem (so make it a pretty seem)? Regards, Bob Nesbit

Give Catalina a call

That's quite a bit of work. What happened that broke your keel bolts? I have a C22 with a fixed keel. My suggestion is to call Catalina Yachts and ask them. They have given me good advice in the past.

Thanks

Thanks much. I'll try that. I bought it with the keel off. It's a project boat.
