Hi I'm considering a catalina 18 that has come up for sale but one of my concerns is the capacity and how it sails with 4 or 5 people on board . any thoughts?

We had a Sanibel 18 many years ago which had similar accommodations to the C18. We found that for a day sail, 4 was fine; 5 could be a challenge depending on the size/age of the passengers. The C18 is a nice boat!

Ditto with 4 or 5 passengers.....But the Catalina/Capri-18 has a much larger cockpit that the Sanibel. Most I had on board was 6, and we only motored.....
