Last weekend the local sailing group, the Southern Idadaho Sailing Association, got together to celebrate the island life and to race our boats around a pretty long buoy layout. We enjoyed all winds up to 25 MPH, with constant wind shifts being the norm on a lake like this at 5000 feet of altitude. We followed the racing with a BBQ and potluck event, and I am happy to report that I won a prize for my outfit, but I don't quite remember what for exactly. The water temp was in the high 70s and low 80s depending on depth. This end of the Lake is relatively shallow, and the wind can stir up some incredible swells in a short period of time. It was a lot of fun and good to see 15 sailboats together in this part of the USA! John S Boise
