Ok I have found my leak, I think, tightening up the toe rails, now how can I clean the stains off the wall carpet, I will try carpet cleaner, but has anyone have experience with a better alternative?
Dave:Try some Oxy Clean. You should be able to find a small container. I did this on part of the mouse fur in our v-berth and was pleasantly surprised.
I used Resolve carpet cleaner on the hull fabric, but the fabic still had a yellow tint to it which was the underlying marine glue. I pulled the fabric down (it came off easy) and replaced it with new hulliner fabric from Gary's Upholstery (www.garysupholstery.com). The result was a fresh new look in the boat. If you can hang wallpaper, this will be an easy job and it is inexpensive.
we had all the familar leaks in our 34. after fixing thatstuff we ripped out the carpeting in aft berth, behind the cabinets in main salon and the entire v berth and replaced with a grey fabric from a fabric store. looks new. we cleaned all the walls with strong bleach before gluing on the new fabric. use a fan with plenty of ventilation while using bleach and glue craig
When we bought our H31, the toe rail had been leaking a while and the carpet on the walls was completely mildewed. Looked and smelled awful. All we did was mix bleach and water about 1 part bleach to two parts water in a spray bottle. Then sprayed it on the carpet until wet. Do this on a day when you can have all vents open and go outside for fresh air frequently! This made the mildew disappear aand the carpet look new and didn't require any scrubbing.
