how to do it
you could probably borrow a set of carpet templates from a local boat (there are a bazillion cat 30's around). the way i did mine on a cat 380 is this way. we bought a roll of brown wrapping paper at an office supply place. we found the longest straight line region and lined up a piece with the edge. we then taped it to the floor (not too much tape) after that, we just taped other pieces to it. to make the corners, use several small pieces taped to what is already there. we worked around the border first, then filled in the middle. after it was all covered, we went back and taped it all up real good. we lifted and rolled it up to find the tape on the floor, and removed it. after that, we just turned it upside down on a piece of carpet that was upside down and traced it. we used a very sharp razor that was designed with an ergonomic handle specifically designed to cut carpet. it all fit beautifully. i wish we had sealed the edges, but an upholstery place can bind the edges for you.
